I needed a primer on Mixed Doubles Curling. This is a good three-minute video.
So Long to Cheap Books You Could Fit in Your Pocket
The mass market paperback, light in the hand and on the wallet, once filled airport bookstores and supermarket media aisles. You may never buy a new one again.

Watched: Secret Mall Apartment 🍿
In 2003, eight Rhode Islanders created a secret apartment inside a busy mall and lived there for four years, filming everything along the way.
Really well done docu, thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m on the artist’s side on this one.
Finally got around to reading this article. Good insight into software changes over the years.

Software didn’t break all at once. It eroded slowly, one reasonable justification at a time.
Reading, Words of Wisdom from Doris Lessing:
” There is only one way to read, which is to browse in libraries and bookshops, picking up books that attract you, reading only those, dropping them when they bore you, skipping the parts that drag – and never, never reading anything because you feel you ought, or because it is part of a trend or a movement. Remember that the book which bores you when you are twenty or thirty will open doors for you when you are forty or fifty-and vise versa. Don’t read a book out of its right time for you."
Changed house filters, installed back-lighting on the new TV, tweaked Hazel Downloads Folder rules, learning about Meshtastic and Meshcore (blog post on this later). Now testing my Vercel Micro.blog Editor: started a post in Safari, saved it locally, opened Vivaldi, imported the post, and continued editing. Works as expected! I’m really liking this new tool.
You gotta love just futzing around.
Jumping right in! Hopefully, I can get it done before the shows/movies come out.

What is Vercel?
It’s not a VPS, it’s not quite Heroku. Vercel is a serverless cloud platform for deploying web apps without managing servers.
I signed up and used them yesterday with a free Hobby Plan for a web app, and their Hobby Plan seems generous, very easy to set up, and easy to use. I discuss them further here.
One of the best online courses I’ve found for learning the basics of Networking, Security, DNS, and more is Adrian Cantrill’s Tech Fundamentals, and it’s free.
Also of interest, and it’s free as well, is Docker Fundamentals.
